1. Congrats to all those fantasy winners this year, I won 1 of 5, and it was for no money.
2. The “Had a Bad Day” song won’t stop ringing in my head after that NFL commercial.
3. Why didn’t Dungy call a TO? It would have been a great opportunity to get Peyton and the boys used to the playoff 2 minute drill, or at least let Sorgi throw one up there. Cleveland says poo on you Dungy.
4. Chris Wienke did not throw his name into the ring for 49er QB next year.
5. 16-0, crazy, and a great game too. Now go out there and loose to the Jags in two weeks!

Pats slipping
1. My parents need to get NFL network, or I need to make sure they have it before I commit to dinner at their house on game day.
2. I tried to get the weather reports Saturday night and the internet wasn’t working. I started Derek Anderson over Breese in another league and now I need big performances from All Day and the Purple People Eaters D.
3. Hilarious Raiders fans on Manning’s first trip to Oakland ever they bust out the “Maaaaaaa-nniiiiigggg” chant, and it almost worked!
4. Why Baltimore, why?!?!?
5. Brady and Bilacheck dressed in all black for postgame interviews for the 6th straight week I know of. Moss finally changed it up going with red and white I think.
6. With subpar games from Brady, Moss, Owens & Romo, fantasy leagues everywhere had top seeds getting upset in the playoffs. Any of you feel the pain?
7. If a Jaguar wins 10 games will anybody hear it?
8. Who is more disappointing this year the Bengals or 49ers? (BTW that was my pre-season Super Bowl pick…….)
9. I guess Kitna was wrong about 10 wins. From 6-2 to 6-8 ouch.
10. It took 32 seasons, 512 games, and1,902 tries but the Bucs have finally scored on a kickoff return. So two dubious streaks were snapped by Florida teams.

NFL- The end is Near
1. The Patriots are 24 point favorites next week against the Jets already. Think it will get to 28? What about the Dolphins game, 30?
2. I didn’t watch the 49er game at all, I went shopping at the mall, my choice. That’s how bad they are.
3. The AFC is already 11 ½ point favorites in the Super Bowl
4. It looks like there will be no drama on the seeding for the post season, everybody seems to be where they will end up.
5. For the first weekend in a long time #1 & #2 both did not lose this Saturday.

Bowl Game Previews
1. What a year in college football. #2 went 6-7 and #1 went 8-4. Since week 6 they were a combined 5-11.
2. USC vs. Illinois? We saw what happened to Michigan last year 2nd place in the Big 10 is a joke. USC by 30
3. Ohio St LSU? Can we get a bigger mismatch? Big 10 is a joke. LSU by 30
4. I’m only down 5 points to the Pagan one after week one of the playoffs…oh wait, Brady and Moss left tonight… Damn I hate Dallas Clark.
5. What a tribute to Taylor. Only 10 defenders on their first defensive play. Too bad the Bills didn’t know about the tribute and broke off a 22 yard run, oops.

Win #3
1. College football still strange, Missouri????
2. 49ers & Raiders win? What is it week two again? Tolen helped but the players played with pride.
3. I guess Philly took that spread as a slap in the face, but a win’s a win Pats.
4. Cleveland Rocks!
5. Can the Giants and Coughlin crumble again?

USC Upset
1. 3rd and 2 is not the time for a double reverse & 3 and 8 is not the time for a lead draw. Hostler should get Nolan approval and plays, or just take it away from him a together.
2. Jonny Damon might have slapped the Indians from their dream and now they realize that they are playing the Yankees, look out nerves!
3. 49ers D has been on the field more than any other team(35min a game), and are 8th best in points given up per minute. If we could get more then 6 first downs a game we could win games.
4. Stanford?!?!? What the F! I can see no way that should have happened. Bench the Booty, It's Sanchez time! If we run the table, We could still move up to BCS status.
5. On a personal note, 3-1 fantasy record, if I hold Romo to 16 or less, it's 4-1. 9-4 against the spread yesterday and 11-2 straight up.

Early Season Returns
1. "USC is who we thought they were!"
2. OJ- "I thought what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?" ( he really said that)
3. Derek Anderson the next Warner?
4. Randy Moss really hated running on a dirt infield last year.
5. The Saints go marching out as quick as they came marching in.
6. Tim Tebow is perfect for the spread offense.
7. You wave 10 million dollars in front of Tiger, he shoots 64-63-64-66.
8. Notre Dame might be the underdog vs. Navy & Army, at least they have Duke at home!
9. It's not raining in Boston, that's just the Sox sweating.
10. 2-0 both in the division, last year we would be 0-2. Especially on the road against a divisional opponent after a Monday night game, on the other side of the country? I'll take it despite the dismal passing game.

Doesn't that wall feel framiliar?
Just a few months ago the Warriors were faced with a daunting task. Win every game, or go home. Now they feel the coldness of the concrete again on their backs. With Utah's ability to play Sloan ball despite Nellie's fun and gun game on the other end, it looks to be over tonight in Salt Lake City. However there is hope Dub fans, it ain't over yet. If it's close or Utah is up late, they will run time off the clock and slow their offence down. With little movement offensively this is where the Warriors can play their kind of defence. They get turnovers, a lot of turnovers, a playoff best almost 10 steals a game. Turnovers lead right into their strength, the fast break. They start to fluster Williams, and he will keep turning it over. He is fourth worst in turnovers per game this post season. Utah gets tight, and the Warriors could win this game. After that you go home and the crowd wills you to another victory, and it's game 7. Where as they say, "Anything can happen in a game 7". Also if they get there the Warriors will have won two in a row, Utah will have gone 7 days without a win, and a sense that the Warriors have figured them out. So let me get a big ...........LETS GO WARRIORS!
Good Googaly Moogaly
So last night I run across this song by Three Six Mafia called Good Googaly Moogaly. What is that? Are you serious? Have we run out of ways to say "wow"? The hook line continues with "......that thang is juciy". I wonder if you buy the unrated version do they say "Shit.... that thang is juicy", and it's just the radio edit that dubs in good googaly moogaly. What amazing poetry we have from these guys. It doesn't get much simpler then that. Now I know that I could look back at songs like You Shook Me All Night Long, and say wow, that didn't take much to write. But come on, what's next.....
Ah shuckz, my welfare's late
how my gunna pay for this movie date
Ah shuckz, that chick is fine
now I gotta get her, and make her mine

Parents These Days 4/30
PARENTS THESE DAYS
So last night I went to see 300 at IMAX. Awesome movie. Great cinematography, well told story, and even made some people cry. I'm not a big blood and guts guy, and this movie had a lot, but the story overshadowed the gore. I did have a hard time watching some of the sex and violence with the person sitting next to me. Not my girlfriend, but the 4 year old boy sitting next to me! The family one seat over consisted of a couple in their 30's, two boys looking about four and six, and a baby! A little itty bitty baby! Not much more then six months I'm guessing. Surprisingly they didn't fuss at all and sat there without acting like kids can in a theater, probably because they were scared out of their minds. That Dad was also kind enough to point out the important parts, "Watch this, he's gonna get his head cut off!" This means that he has already seen this, and knew how bad it was! What makes a parent think that this will not affect a child for years to come, and I'm sure they will continue to show them this kind of "entertainment" for years to come. With the events in Virginia, it makes me wonder why we allow kids to be exposed to this stuff. Should it really be left up to parents to decided what is best for the kids to see? I would have said something to the guy on the way out, but he was big and scary looking.
So today on the Rise Guys show I heard them promoting the "Huge Take of the Day" with the winner getting free IMAX tickets. So I called in with my story, and they like me were shocked at the parents decision to expose their kids to this movie. So I got tickets to go see another IMAX movie of my choice. I think I'll wait until Happy Feet 2 comes out.

Virgina Tech 4/17
PINK ELEPHANT
You know, nobody even mentioned the pink elephant in the corner last night. Maybe somebody did and I missed it, maybe it was the need to get away from it for a bit. Nobody mentioned the tragedy at Virgina Tech. It was difficult for me to get away from the reports yesterday, with all my "research skills". I found it disturbing how camera phones and emails where the way the media covered the story. We had kids looking to get their minute of fame by capturing the cops reacting to nearby gunfire. You could almost feel him thinking, "I need to get closer." They communicated to students stuck in their dorm rooms by campus email. Can you imagine how scared you would be alone in a dorm room waiting for the all clear message to show up in your in box? I tried not to look, but I still found some of the first hand witness accounts hard to stay away from. To be in one of those classrooms? Trying to barricade the door before a madman gets in? That takes guts. We find out today he was a loner, with very few friends, who seemed to have a great deal of frustration with society and it's social networks. Strange, in a world of ever expanding ways to connect to people some still feel left out. I hope we all take a moment of these few days to acknowledge what is good in our lives, and be ever thankful for the friends we have.

Game 2

Despite a Game 1 loss, the Warriors should be ready tonight. This is the first time they have trailed in a series and need to continue to play loose and dictate the pace of the game. With a small lineup they learned that Utah will get offensive rebounds, they just need to limit them by having the guards go after them more aggressively. With no one major offensive force to focus on each defender has to do thier part. On the offensive side everything is still clicking, and they need to stick to Nelly's directions. If you take three jumpers in a row, then next time you have to drive. If the team takes five jump shots in a row, the next possession must be a drive. That is what makes Don Nelson so great, his "Keep it simple stupid" way of running things.
