All of Mazatlan- and a no-no?

So yesterday we took a tour of old Mazatlan and new Mazatlan. Absolutly beautiful. They really have done a lot around here to fix things up. As with most forgien countries, everybody is very welcoming to Americans, too bad we aren't as accepting. We were able to visit an orpanage yesterday to drop off toys and other necessities to this church funded place. The kids were mostly in school but we did meet one girl who spent a year in S.F. learning English, and she was full of smiles as she talked in very good English.

After a nice time by the pool, it was off th see the local baseball team. What an event, and what a game! The place was about 90% full with about 5,000. The Vernados(deer?) got off to a nice 2 run first inning then the pitching took over. As they entered the 7th, the visitors had yet to get a hit. History was apon us. After getting the first out, the manager came to the mound and took out the starter to a corus of boos and whisles.
I have to mention that durring the entire game between every pitch the play music, and everybody dances to get on camera, especially the girls... The drinking age at the games must be 12, because every kid had there fill of $1.70 beer, yes, a Pacifico for $1.70!!! At a ball game!!! The food was amazingly good, and we barley tried it all. They also have chearleaders all over the stadium representing a varity of companies. Much like Jager girls in the states.
Back to the game. So after the pitching changes we entered the ninth, still no hits by the visitors. Pop fly to left for out # one. Then a shot to the right just off the tip of the second basemen's glove. Hit number one. :( Then back to back doubles and we were tied! In the bottom o fthe ninth, a single, and the Vernados big hitter steps to the dish. Bang! I deep one to left, back to the wall, Adios pelota!!! The kids in the stands rush the field to meet thier hero at home, and we all go home winners. One of the most exciting games I have ever seen.

I think we are upto 42 lizards now.
